To prepare 250 mL of a solution of specified molarity, (a) obtain the appropriate mass of the chemical, (b) transfer the chemical to a 250-mL volumetric flask that is partly filled with distilled water, and (c) add enough distilled water to fill the flask to the appropriate mark. Once the solution is thoroughly mixed, it is ready to be placed in an appropriately labeled bottle for laboratory use.
