A pair of numbers represented in a specified order. An ordered pair is used to identify the location of a point. Every point on a rectangular coordinate system can be represented by an ordered pair (x, y).

The point determned by the interesection of the x-axis and the y-axis. It has the coordinates (0,0).

Smallest unit of weight in the American system. 16 ounces = 1 pound.

Overtime

The pay earned by a person if he or she works more than a certain number of hours per week. In most jobs that pay by the hour, a person will earn 0m1o1a.gif times as much per hour for every hour beyond 40 hours worked in one work week. For example, Carlos earns $6.00 per hour for the first 40 hours in a week and overtime for each additional hour. He would earn $9.00 per hour for all hours he worked in that week beyond 40 hours.
