- This is a map of different climactic zones (氣候區) in the world. Locate the general area where you live. What is summer like? Winter? How does that compare with northeastern China? Singapore?
- Can you locate the link for temperature levels? (Hint: look for the character 度 you learned in this chapter’s core vocabulary.)
- Discuss with a classmate your ideal climate. Can you locate it on the map? What is your ideal summer Fahrenheit temperature? Fall temperature? In Celsius?
Sina Weather Site Comprehensive Chinese forecasting site (Simplified Characters)
Scroll down until you see the interactive map of China. Click on Shanghai (上海). What are the expected high and low temperatures for today? How about tomorrow? (Hint: tomorrow is referred to as “48 hours,” or 48 小时)
Do the same for Changchun (长春). (Hint: 长春 is in the far northeast.)
