Fundraising ideas:
(1) Peanut Sale! Buy peanuts, the largest export crop produced in Senegal, in the shell in bulk and divide into smaller packets. Put information you've learned about African cultures ("Did you know?"), on each package. Sell these, or any other treat, on campus and collect contributions for the nonprofit of your choice.
(2) Flower Sale! Gather wild flowers, buy flowers in bulk, or make paper flowers to sell on campus. Contribute the money to your fundraiser to support the nonprofit of your choice.

Nonprofit Organizations:
Tostan http://www.tostan.org Tostan is a small nonprofit organization dedicated to women's health education in Senegal. The organization has an office in the U.S. which accepts donations. You may contribute any amount or "adopt a village" for a larger sum and sponsor workshops, clinics and educational programming for an entire village.
Greenpeace France http://www.greenpeace.org/france_fr Though sometimes controversial, Greenpeace is an organization dedicated to environmental issues on a global scale. The French Greenpeace website hosts articles about the environment, describes their campaigns, and accepts donatations.
Idealist www.idealist.org Find your own worthy cause on this site which catalogues nonprofit organizations worldwide.
