Remedies and consumer protection
Objectives
|
- Identify and understand the different remedies provided by both common law and statute and in what situation each may be applicable.
- Identify and understand the legal rules which apply to remedies for misrepresentation and breach of contract respectively, and the sources of those rules.
- Identify and understand the respective roles of the Fair Trading Act 1986 and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 as consumer protection statutes.
- Identify and understand the rights of the consumer in applying for appropriate redress in a simple fact situation.
