Use the excellent "Prehistoric Archaeology of the Aegean" site maintained by Dartmouth College and the Foundation of the Hellenic World to explore Minoan religion (lesson 15 in the series). Read what the site has to say about the kinds of evidence scholars have to work with in their efforts to reconstruct and describe Minoan religion. After studying the chapter, decide whether we have sufficient evidence to speak with any real authority about Minoan religion.

Visit Tufts University's Perseus Project. Use the site's navigational scheme to locate a set of photographs showing the excavated remains of Akrotiri, Thera. Relate what you see of locales and buildings to the paintings reproduced in your textbook (figs. 4-13 and 4-14). Just how sophisticated were the people who lived and created art at Akrotiri, Thera?

Visit the Athens Museum of Cycladic Art website to get a view of a number of additional examples of Cycladic art. Browse the collection until you find the statue that the museum calls "our Modigliani." Read about the statue and then give an estimation of why Cycladic sculpture had a considerable impact on early modern art in Europe.
