Use the QuickTime VR movie to survey the room and get a sense of the size of the work. What impact is the large size of the work likely to have on a viewer? As you look around the room, notice that the Night Watch is not the only large group portrait in the gallery. Identify the others and speculate on why seventeenth-century Dutch people liked such large group portraits. You can get information on any of the paintings by clicking on it from within the movie.
