Visual and Style Analysis

This activity contains 5 questions.

	Create a study set on fig. 1-4. that includes the Woman from Willendorf and the Peplos Kore (from the chapter on Greek art). Even though you have not yet studied the Greek statue, based on what you see what would you speculate to be two basic differences between the intentions of the respective creators of these two statues?   To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.

	The Wounded Bison shown in fig. 1-10 is a painting that also has a definite three-dimensional quality. The outlines of the image appear almost to have been carved out of the rock. In fact, the raised contour follows a naturally occurring outcrop of the rock. 	The photograph of the dolmen in fig. 1-16 shows a configuration of rocks that might be mistaken for a piece of modern abstract sculpture.
