Author Scott McCloud is a comic book writer and artist who is best known for the books Understanding Comics (1993), Reinventing Comics (2000) and for independent comics series Zot!, which ran from 1984 to 1990. McCloud is considered to be a cartoonist's cartoonist. Comparatively, he produced few pages of comic book art, but what he did produce is superior. McCloud has without fail created comics that uncover his thoughtful, analytical approach to comics.
