4 . Assume that you are convinced that "juvenile justice" is much too broad a term because you have to search through an awful lot of hits to find sources you can use. You decide you want to narrow your search to information about juvenile justice laws in New York, but not laws that deal with juveniles being drunk or intoxicated. Furthermore, you do not want any sources that go back more than one year. In addition, you want sites that are at universities, for they may be more scholarly. You know that most search engines have the capability of an "advanced search." Go to Google and Hotbot , search the home page of each to find the advanced search feature, use it to conduct your search with both Google and Hotbot, and report your results. [Hint]

5 . Metacrawlers search other search engines. They provide many hits, but may not allow you to narrow your search with advanced search features. Go to Metacrawler and Dogpile and again search for "Juvenile Justice." How do these results compare to those provide by Google or Hotbot? [Hint]

6 . The so-called "invisible web" refers to specialized search engines that provide sources in a very limited area, such as just one category of journal or just one broad topic. To find a variety of specialized search engines go to Searchability.com and Direct Search and search for a specialized database that might have sources for the research topic you are interested in. Report what you searched for and what you discovered. (If you find good sites, be sure to bookmark them.) [Hint]
