Writing and Revising

Your goal should be to locate authoritative, accurate, unbiased current information on your topic.

All sources, not just Web sources, need to be evaluated. In the early stages of a research project, evaluate its value to your research. Don't take elaborate notes until you are relatively certain that you can use the source in your paper or project.

See pages 83-86 of The Research Paper: A Guide to Library and Internet Research for an in-depth discussion of how to evaluate Internet and library sources.
