A New York native, Marjorie Waters lives and works in Boston, Massachusetts. In addition to being a frequent contributor to literary and popular magazines, she has written one longer work, The Victory Garden Kids' Book (1988), now out of print but which has developed a small following. For example, the web site "Education World Page" lists The Victory Garden as a resource on its "Grow a Garden of Opportunity!" web site, which explains how classroom gardens can provide lessons in science, history, math, and poetry. Waters wrote the preface to Native American Gardening: Stories, Projects and Recipes for Families, by Michael J. Caduto and Joseph Bruchac, and her work is included in Other Sides of Silence: An Anthology of Ploughshares Fiction, edited by DeWitt Henry. Web Destinations
