Appointed editor-in-chief of O, The Oprah Magazine, in 2000, Amy Gross has written for a number of different magazines, including Food & Wine, Good Housekeeping, Mademoiselle, Modern Maturity, Martha Stewart Living, Talk, and Vogue. The founding editor of Mirabella, she served as that magazine's editor-in-chief from 1995-1997 while she also served from 1993-1996 as the editorial director of Elle magazine. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, and she graduated from Connecticut College with a degree in sociology. With Dee Ito, she has co-authored two books: Women Talk about Breast Surgery: From Diagnosis to Recovery (1990) and Women Talk about Gynecological Surgery: From Diagnosis to Recovery (1991).
