Born June 20, 1936, in Chicago, Dan Greenburg has been married to journalist Nora Ephron and to writer/editor Suzanne O'Malley. He was educated at the University of Illinois (B.F.A., 1958) and the University of California, Los Angeles (M.A., 1960). He won Advertising Writers Association of New York Silver Key Awards in 1964 and1972. Greenburg has written fiction and nonfiction books as well as plays and films. In 1964, his bestseller How to Be a Jewish Mother, brought him wide acclaim. Greenburg worked as a copywriter for the Lansdale Company, an advertising agency in Los Angeles, from 1960-1961 and for Carson/Roberts from 1961-1962. He was the managing editor of Eros Magazine, from 1962 -1963. From 1963 to 1965, he wrote copy for the Papert, Koening, Lois advertising agency in New York City. Books by Greenburg include Scoring: A Sexual Memoir, 1972; Something's There: My Adventures in the Occult, 1976; and Confessions of a Pregnant Father,1987.
