| Massachusetts native Ellen Goodman was born April 11, 1941, and educated at Radcliffe College, graduating with honors in 1963 with a bachelor's degree. She was named newspaper woman of the year by the New England Press Association in 1968, and columnist of the year by the New England Women's Press Association in 1975. She won a Pulitzer Prize in 1980 for commentary. She has written for Newsweek, the Detroit Free Press, and the Boston Globe. A syndicated columnist with Washington Post Writers Group, Goodman has also been a commentator on the "Spectrum" show (CBS-Radio) as well as weekly guest commentator on NBC's "Today" show. Her works include Turning Points, 1979; Close to Home, 1979; and At Large, 1981. Goodman resides in Brookline, Massachusetts. Web Destinations
