Bletter, Diana "I Refuse to Live in Fear"

Diana Bletter is an American living in Israel. She was born in New York in 1957 and received a degree in comparative literature from Cornell University in 1978. A freelance writer since her graduation , with the exception of a year she spen on staff with the National Lampoon, Bletter’s many articles have appeared in well-known periodicals like The International Herald, Tribute, and Newsday. She is also the author of The Invisible Thread: A Portrait of Jewish American Women, which was nominated for a national Jewish book award in 1989. Bletter and Samia Zina, the friend she mentions in her essay, “I Refuse to Live in Fear,” helped organize Dove of Peace, a friendship group for Arab and Jewish women.
