Bart Edelman

Bart Edelman, born and raised in New Jersey, now resides in California where he is currently a professor of English at Glendale Community College. He earned his degrees from Hofstra University and has taught at Kingsborough Community College of the City University of New York, Santa Monica College, West Los Angeles College, Long Beach City College, and UCLA. He also edits Eclipse, the literary journal published at Glendale CC, as well as doing a number of readings and writing workshops around the country. Edelman has done literary research in many countries, including India, Egypt, Nigeria, and Poland. His first collection of poetry, titled Crossing the Hackensack, was published in 1993, his second, Under Damaris’ Dress, in 1996, then The Alphabet of Love in 1999, and most recently The Gentle Man in 2001.
