Susan Griffin

Susan Griffin’s works include Woman and Nature: The Roaring Inside Her, Pornography and Silence, and A Chorus of Stones. A Chorus of Stones was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award, was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize, and won the Bay Area Book Critics Award. Unremembered Country, a collection of her poems, won the California Commonwealth Prize for poetry. She has been the recipient of a MacArthur Grant for Peace and International Cooperation, an NEA Fellowship, and an Emmy for her play "Voices". Griffin teaches writing and the creative process in Berkeley, California. Susan Griffin’s most recent work, The Book of the Courtesans: A Catalogue of Their Virtues, was published in the fall of 2001
