14_Race and Ethnicity

This activity contains 2 questions.

Speak to an admissions officer at your college or university to see if race and ethnicity is taken into account for admission to your school. Ask them if there are any policies regarding this issue and the reason behind it. Write a short paper stating your findings.

Locate an international student or recent immigrant at your school or in your neighborhood. Ask them to tell you how race and ethnicity are perceived in their homeland. For example, what are the different categories and classifications? Ask them if race is socially constructed.
