Objectives

Chapter 10 details the equipment and processes used for digital printing. Various types of printers, drivers, and RIPS are identified and their uses are explained. The use of profiles is discussed and the choices of papers and inks are detailed. Special printing techniques such as printing panoramas or printing digital images in black and white are included. Presented also is an introduction to displaying digital work on the internet, including a brief introduction to making a personal website. The chapter ends with a discussion of the "ethics" of image editing.

After reading this chapter you should be able to:

  2. Understand and use profiles.
