Summary

Renaissance humanism focused the potential of the individual and it is not surprising, therefore, that the Renaissance is best remembered for the genius of its outstanding individuals. In their own way, each of the individuals profiled in this section exemplify the spirit of the Renaissance: Giotto, Lorenzo Valla, Isotta Nogarola, Giovanni Pico, and Niccoló Machiavelli.
