Before beginning any literature search, be it on the Internet, World Wide Web, or in your campus library, you should equip yourself with a variety of terms related to your topic of interest. Indexing of topics by terms can be very literal, and if you do not search by the appropriate terms, you will fail to retrieve many articles of potential interest. Try different combinations of terms to refine your search. Listed below are terms related to topics discussed in Chapter 15. This is not meant to be an exhaustive list, but rather is intended as an aid to help you begin to formulate your
own list of search terms.
An added suggestion relates to the use of search engines on the Internet/World Wide Web. Be sure to use several different search engines (Alta Vista, Lycos, Infoseek, WebCrawler, etc.) when conducting your search. Each of the various search engines covers a somewhat different subset of sites on the Web. Your search will be more thorough, and you will be happier with the results, if you use several different search engines.
