To evaluate your understanding of any of the key concepts, select the corresponding Concept Quiz from the Selection Bar and answer the questions provided.


  1. “Structural Geology” – The study of Earth’s geometry and its evolution.

  2. Deformation: Force, stress and strain, and factors affecting how rocks deform.

  3. Mapping geologic structures.

  4. Folds – bends in rocks.

  5. Faults – movement of rocks past each other.

  6. Joints – near-surface cleavage in rocks.
