  • Describe how a magma's composition, temperature, and amount of dissolved gases affect its viscosity and influence the nature of volcanic eruptions.

  • List the materials extruded during an eruption.

  • Discuss the characteristic forms and eruptive patterns of the three general types of volcanoes.

  • List and describe several volcanic landforms other than volcanoes that are associated with volcanic activity.

  • Explain what is meant by intrusive igneous activity, and list some features that are produced by the process.

  • Describe the relationship between plate tectonics and igneous activity.

  • Discuss how explosive volcanic eruptions can modify Earth's climate.
