- 7000- Year-Old City Under Black Sea
September 13, 2000, NPR Morning Edition broadcast about marine explorer Bob Ballard who has found evidence of a 7000-year-old human settlement under 300 feet of water in the Black Sea. He believes the settlement was flooded after melting ice age glaciers caused the Mediterranean to rise over its banks and flow into what was then a shallower lake.
