In keeping with the theme of Chapter 16, these Web destinations are designed to demonstrate just how exciting the discipline of geography is. These sites exemplify the many concepts presented in The Fluvial Processes.

• EarthSat current Flood Risk and Flood Forecast maps: This site provides up-to-date maps of areas at risk for flooding.
• National Water Conditions, part of the USGS site, contains a map of current streamflow data which indicates which areas of the United States are above and below normal streamflow.
• Realtime (current) River Discharge Data: This Web site allows the general public to download current river discharge data. If you need streamflow data for a location in the United States, check this site first.
• Fluvial Landforms from Space: This site, part of Geomorphology from Space, allows the user to see remotely sensed images of fluvial landforms. Various remote sensing platforms (e.g., Landsat, radar) are used to illustrate the landforms.
