The Ganges and Bramaputra basins are located in humid subtropical and tropical wet monsoon climate regions. The Indus basin drains a desert region. The Himalaya Mountains are the primary source of the sediment transported by the rivers. Imagine yourself as a piece of rock at the very top of Mount Everest. Describe a scenario by which you become a collection of sediments in the Bay of Bengal. Discuss the changes in weathering processes acting upon you between the high, cold reaches of the Himalayas and the hot, humid mud flats of the Ganges Delta.
