In keeping with the theme of Chapter 8, these Web destinations are designed to demonstrate just how exciting the discipline of geography is. These sites exemplify the many concepts presented in Climatic Zones and Types.
- Climate Visualization: Climate Visualization is a Web site run by the National Climatic Data Center. It allows users to create maps and graphs of all climate data held in the center.
- The Global Historical Climate Network: This site allows users to download climate data for thousands of sites around the globe. If you need climate data for a location, this is the place to try first.
- World Climates
This site allows users to select a city and receive a description of its climate.
- Climographs of Selected U.S. Cities
- The United States Interactive Climate Pages: This site, by the Climate Diagnostics Center, has clickable image maps of the United States that allow users to obtain mean monthly temperature and precipitation data for a number of U.S. cities.
