Science Journals

Journals are the main source of communication in the scientific community, and becoming familiar with scientific journals is an essential part of learning to be a biologist. Journals provide the professional forum in which scientists present their research findings, discuss the research of others, and contribute new ideas on both general and specific aspects of their field. Both highly specialized and general scientific journals are on the monthly reading list of nearly every professional life scientist. The following links lead to the leading journals, and some helpful information on how to read and understand scientific articles. In most cases, these journals require a paid subscription to view their on-line articles but many offer the non-subscription users to view the article abstracts.
