Bear in mind that a change in life history strategy that might seem maladaptive in some contexts (reducing body size, for example, means producing smaller litters) might be adaptive in others (reducing body size to reproduce earlier might be very advantageous in an unpredictable environment). As you study the chapter, look for other examples of this.
