|
A pulse-chase experiment allows an
investigator to track the fates of proteins through a cell, from the protein's synthesis to its
final cellular destination. In this activity, you'll explore a pulse-chase experiment at the
molecular and cellular levels. The experiment is based on those performed by George
Palade and colleagues, who determined the roles of the rough endoplasmic reticulum and
Golgi apparatus in the secretion of proteins.
