Chapter 12: Patterns of Inheritance

Group Activity

Genetic counseling is a field that has been growing with our increased knowledge of the human genome. Individuals and prospective parents can now obtain help so as to make informed decisions. Counselors provide information and discuss the consequences of various decision scenarios but do not tell their clients what they should do. Your instructor will provide your group with a case study for you to discuss and to determine how you, as a genetic counselor, might proceed.
