Overview

Understanding how collaboration and inclusion are intertwined is critical to the success of students with disabilities in progressing through the general education curriculum. This chapter presents information on how collaboration takes place in the classroom and school context and provides important information on how collaboration can be fostered with multiple stakeholders. In addition, it presents related information on multicultural awareness and the effects of culture on collaboration. It is important to understand that collaborative and inclusive practices influence the success of the progression through the general curriculum for students with disabilities.
