Video Essay

Designed to further extend your understanding of selected chapter topics, the CW streaming videos highlight three important themes of Exceptional Lives. The segment titled "A Child's Fight to Survive" enriches students' understanding of what it is like for a family who has a young child with Type 1 diabetes; the segment on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) highlights assistive technologies and universal design; and the segment featuring music therapist Mike Brownell demonstrates a successful instructional strategy for students who have autism. You will have the opportunity to answer several online essay questions for each of the six video segments. These questions will challenge you to integrate what you have learned from the textbook and the video and to apply that knowledge while formulating responses. Click on the underlined links below to access the video clips, transcripts, and essay questions for each video segment. Responses can be mailed to up to four individuals.
