Overview of Today’s Special Education
Media Challenge

The articles that you find in newspapers, magazines, and on TV influence the public. This information is often the basis of opinions people hold about special education, so educators should be aware of what parents, community members, and other educators are learning about individuals with disabilities.

For each chapter, you will be asked to locate an article or publication that deals with a specific issue related to special education. Below you will find a suggested list of major online publications that might offer articles concerning students with disabilities or special education in general.

Please select and read an article from a print media source that features a general perspective concerning the education of individuals with disabilities. Below is a list of links to the home page of the publication. From there, conduct your own search to locate an appropriate article.
