Content Frame

Welcome to the social studies education website! On this website you will find addresses and links to the most useful Internet sites for social studies educators. Because the social studies curriculum tends to be organized around social science content areas, topics are organized and presented here much the same way as they are found in most schools across the nation. Categories are sometimes further broken down by themes and issues specific to each discipline.

Our website contains the following features:

Links to various pertinent organizations within the topic.

Links to useful and meaningful websites that allow you to access current Internet information and resources to support what you are learning about instruction.

An additional bank of links found in selected topics that are more specifically broken down.

Links to various sites that help you incorporate theories and practices into the classroom. Some examples include virtual field trips and webquests.

Links to various means of assessing your students’ progress in the classroom.

Information found in each topic to help you keep your students safe on the Internet while in the classroom.
