INTRODUCTION

This website is a guide for you taking a course in health services for physical therapists and occupational therapists. The website consists of a guide for each chapter of the book. Each guide consists of a review of the chapter objectives with a sample multiple choice question with rationale for each question, a guide to the case example focus question, a guide to readings in the chapter for each chapter review question and ideas about how to explore the concepts in the chapter discussion questions.

The objective of the book is for you to understand and interact with the work environment you will be entering in both clinical education and as a graduate. It is also important information to support a traditional practice management course. Your instructor will probably also provide you with outside readings that will support and supplement in the book. Policy is a “contact sport” so do not be afraid to share your opinions. As you learn more, the information will help you be more informed both in your considerations but in your positions and advocacy. Hopefully, some of you will be involved in your professional association after graduation and will apply this information directly for the benefit of your profession and patients/ clients. Enjoy the book and website. Do not hesitate to contact us with your thoughts and impressions.
