What is validity?
Also, I had a question about validity which is defined in the glossary and in chapter 13. To further explain validity it is important to understand both types of validity.
There are two types of validity in relation to a research study. Internal validity means that the results of the study are accurate, and it is affected by the methods selected to conduct the study. External validity means that the results can be inferred to the general population, and it is affected by the type and size of sample.
So basically, validity defined means that internally, the study measured what it was supposed to measure and that externally, the study can be inferred to the general population.
