Using Assistive Technology (AT) to Help Children with Disabilities Learn
IDEA defines assistive technology (AT) as "any item, piece of equipment, or product system, whether acquired commercially off the shelf, modified, or customized, that is used to increase, maintain, or improve functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities." Many software programs are available that can help children with literacy development.
Go to the site below. Search for software to assist young learners with literacy development. Go to the Stickybear website site below and locate the Language Arts Section. Locate software titles that you think will promote literacy development.
