Internet Histories

The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. It is a worldwide computer-based broadcasting network, a mechanism for information dissemination, and a vehicle for collaboration and interaction among individuals all rolled into one medium. The origination, growth, and evolution of the Internet are the result of a sustained investment and commitment to research and development through a government/education/ industry partnership.

The Internet Society is an international organization for global coordination and cooperation on the Internet. It promotes and facilitates a number of initiatives focused on the Internet's development, availability, and associated technologies. The Internet Society also serves as a global clearinghouse for Internet information and education. The Internet Society maintains a collection of Internet histories online. Many of these histories are written by those who were originators of the Internet. You can read these Internet histories online at http://www.isoc.org/internet/history/.
