Becoming a Responsive Teacher
Teaching Case
|
Marissa is just finishing a literacy methods course titled Teaching Reading in the Elementary School. She has worked diligently to learn the content and concepts presented in the course. At times, she feels overwhelmed by the prospect of being prepared to teach reading at all grade levels, K–8. She wants to be the best teacher she can be and reach all students in her future classrooms. While she understands that she has just begun her journey of learning to become a teacher of reading, questions cause her to wonder if she has what it takes. If you were having a conversation with Marissa, how would you answer her questions?
