Make a Book for Early Readers

Using the ideas for making books in this chapter, make a book for Early Readers that is bright and inviting, durable enough to last, laminating it if possible. Remember to print in clear, large print using both upper and lower case letters. Illustrate the pages with pictures cut from magazines, or stickers, or your own colorful drawings. If you choose to construct a book using a child's known words, invent your "own child" and the words that she knows to form the basis of the text you construct. Share your emergent texts with your classmates, explaining how you could use this book with a child.
