In addition to studying how to teach young children at the university, Kim works after school at a child care center with a group of Early Readers. She has decided to try out shared reading using a repetitive, predictable Big Book, easel, and pointer. She gathers the children on the story rug and prepares for the reading. Below is her basic plan for the shared reading. After each element, explain why that component is important for children to gain maximum benefit from a shared reading.
