Introduction to Teaching: Becoming a Professional This website provides additional information for users of Introduction to Teaching Becoming a Professional, second edition, by Don Kauchak and Paul Eggen. To further enrich their learning, users will find Chapter Overviews for each chapter as well as multiple choice Self-Assessment questions with which to test their knowledge of chapter content. In addition, the Increasing Understanding, Reflect on This, Field Experience, and Teaching in an Era of Reform modules offer students activities and essay questions to expand their understanding of chapter concepts. Web Links and Exploring Diversity content offer many pertinent websites and activities related to the material. The Praxis Practice and Portfolio Activities sections from each chapter of the text book are provided in an online format that allows the user to complete the activities and submit results to their instructor.

In select chapters, the Looking Through Classroom Windows, Video Perspectives, and Video Discussion question-response sections offer students a chance to respond online to video clips their professors show them and that are available on the DVD that accompanies the book. The New York Times E-Themes of the Times allows students to browse an archive of New York Times articles that pertain to the foundations of education. Finally, users will find a Message Board feature that allows them to communicate with students and professors nationwide about pertinent topics and issues.

Click here to view a correlation guide for the text book specific to Texas state standards and requirements.

In addition, users can access web-based Professional Development resources and professors can download Professor Resources in PowerPoint, both of which provide vast bonus resources to aid in the understanding and application of content.

Finally, for professors, there is a Syllabus Manager feature that allows professors to create and modify an online syllabus for their courses.
