A key element of guidance in the early childhood classroom is the work teachers and caregivers do to create a positive emotional environment in which children can grow and learn. Some strategies adults learn to accomplish this are to understand children and what motivates them to learn, involve children in making decisions about how the classroom operates, and to develop a sense of classroom community.
