|
Questions 1-5 relate to the following data sets for Chapter 12: ch12.independent.samples.data and ch12.dependent.samples.data.
The first data set contains 24 observations of students' reading scores and grade point averages. Gender is coded as '0' for females and a '1' for males. A variable called "PASS" reflects whether the student passed (1) or failed (0) a performance assessment. A variable called "GROUP" reflects three levels of the treatment where 1 and 2 are experimental and 3 is a control.
The second data set contains 12 observations of students' scores on a first (TEST1) and second (TEST2) test. Gender is coded as a '0' for females and a '1' for males. Final grade point averages are included as GPA.
SPSS syntax and output files for all of the procedures can be found in the Statistics Module. They are labeled ch12.essay.independent.syntax, ch12.essay.independent.output, ch12.essay.dependent.syntax, and ch12.essay.dependent.output respectively.
