This tool runs on a Windows-based personal computer. See system requirements to make sure STATPAK will run on your pc. Macintosh users may obtain a copy of STATPAK on disk. (Ask your instructor to contact the local Prentice Hall representative.) You may be asked to download and install a browser plug-in, such as Shockwave, in order to view STATPAK on your pc.
STATPAK is so user-friendly that you could probably use it without further instruction. Just to be on the safe side, however, here is a basic overview of the program. One general procedure to note is that in order to move from screen to screen, you simply double-click. If you make the inappropriate entry, the program will beep or an error dialog box will appear and indicate the nature of your error.
STATPAK begins with a main menu that lists the names of several statistics tests. With your mouse, select the text by double-clicking on the test of your choice. Here are the tests from which to choose:
Click on the "Enter Score" button. A dialog box will appear with a white field and your cursor will appear. Enter each score here. After you have entered each score, click on "OK." After you have entered your last score, click on the "Done" button. Once you have completed entering all of the scores, click on the "Calculate" button to see your results. Select the "Print" button to print your results.
Select "Clear Scores" button to erase all of the entries and begin a new calculation.
Click on "Return to the Main Menu" to return to the list of tests.
Click on "Quit" to end the program.

That is all there is to it. Whether this is your first time calculating statistical tests or just your latest, you will appreciate how user-friendly STATPAK is.

Windows98 or newer
16 MB RAM
Netscape 4.0 or higher or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher
28.8 kbps Internet connection speed or higher
