Statistical Analysis

The results of an inferential test are clearly the most important objective of the analysis. However, to perform a complete analysis, you need to be able to (1) provide statistical information describing the sample and the performance on relevant variables, (2) summarize this descriptive information narratively, (3) conduct the appropriate inferential analyses, and (4) draw a conclusion based on these statistical results.

To get started on these analyses, from the SPSS data file, click on Analyze, then Descriptive Statistics, then Frequencies, and select group, sex, and age, which are three of the categorical variables in this study. By selecting other procedures as you have just done, you can conduct any statistical analysis of the data that you wish.

Alpha levels should be set at .05 for all analyses.
