	Herb Research Foundation A huge number of web sites are devoted to dispensing information about herbs and botanicals. Unfortunately, the primary goal of many of these sites is to sell herbs, rather than to give accurate information. Students must be very careful to examine information on the web to be certain it is from a reputable source. The Herb Research Foundation, which claims to be the “world’s oldest and foremost source of accurate, science-based information on the health benefits and safety of medicinal plants” sponsors a web site at www.herbs.org. True to its claim, the site compiles brief descriptions of current herb news and scientific reports. It also provides news reports on the herbal industry and politics relating to this industry. While it does not sell herbal products, it does sell information on the herbs.   To create paragraphs in your essay response, type <p> at the beginning of the paragraph, and </p> at the end.

	MedLine for Herbal Products Most students are aware that Medline is one of the most comprehensive databases for medical information. Few, however, are aware of a special Medline Plus that provides health information specific for herbal medicine, at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/herbalmedicine.html. The site is comprehensive and well organized into sections that include latest news, general overviews, clinical trials, research and specific conditions.
