Case Study

Raymond Mosley is an elderly man who lives alone and has type 2 diabetes. This patient has had some difficulty with weight gain and staying on a diet and exercise regimen. The doctor first prescribed Glucotrol (glipizide) and recently changed the medication to Glucotrol XL when Raymond was hospitalized. When the nurse went to give this patient his Glucotrol XL, he refused to take it saying it was not his medicine.
